Anyone who thought Blizzard no longer loved them can relax as the MMO giant has just confirmed anyone who subscribes to both days of the Blizzcon Event on Aussie Pay TV Main Event, will recieve a rare polar bear mount, complete with flag-waving Murloc.

This was initially meant to be kept a surprise but leaked earlier prompting Blizzard to deny any such prize. Obviously it was intended all along, and all you need to do is subscribe to the event for both days and you'll receive a loot card for you to claim your prize.

I don't really see it as desperate, more as a nod to fans really. I hardly think blizzard would be desperate at the worst of times (when they only gather 50,000 new subscribers in a month as opposed to 100,000)

hey all power to them, they have found a product which is making money. gimmicks, cross promotion and branding is what it's all about.

some people have an unusual obsessions with mounts as the latest qq fest in relation to brewfest mounts not dropping can attest to. At the end of the day all the epic mounts go the same speed and don't make you any better at the game but it makes some people feel "special" to have a slightly different mount.

See, I'd be interested in this to see the panels, but I bet the panels are what they show the least of. I don't really want to watch reporters wandering around interviewing people about what it means to be a gamer, or watching coverage of live starcraft competitions or whatever else will be going on. I just want to see the blizzard guys talk about making games.

And yeah, the mount is going to be reasonably common, because this same package deal (with the pay-per-view and the mount) is available in the US too. So I dunno if it'll ebay for much.
