The games overall pacing can be compared to a Michael Bay movie, the character development and storyline complement the game very well, the game picks up around about the end of Assault and the starting point of Onslaught from Crysis.

Storyline wise, you play Psycho (british dude) fighting the Korean People’s Army under the command of General Lee (bad guy), trying to repel the US Army, than the events from Crysis trigger the Aliens. Crytek actual did put excellent work added the depth to the main character, with the scripted sequences and cinematic, so there was some really good attention to detail done.

Performance wise, Gamer & Enthusiast really tax the high-end systems, incredible slowdowns in the ice levels (don’t know if its a shader thing) but I have noticed that on each level of detail they don’t change the colour scheme to a cartoonish appearance compared to Crysis on the lowest settings.

Overall I found the standalone addition to the Crysis storyline quite enjoyable and at around about 6 – 8 hours of game play at 30 bucks of steam, I really do recommended this game to anyone that wants to immerse themself into character that Crytek has built up.

I am yet to download the standalone multiplayer component Crysis Wars which is about a 5.2GB download from steam so I’ll have to stager the download during the week on off peak, but I have heard good things.

Finished it yesterday (took me 10 hours) and really loved it. Improved on Crysis in almost every way and played on maximum settings on 1680x1050 with constant 30+fps outside (and 80+ inside which takes up quite a large portion of the game).

Didn't experience any slowdown when I reached ice surprisingly which was sweeet.

And multi is a blast, some of the levels in it are incredibly fun.
