So i've been thinking about getting a Canon Powershot g9 (link). They cost ~$800 here, I could buy it personally when i go to Japan, but I'd like to mess around with it before hand so i know how to use it before i go. So i was thinking about getting it online.

Can anyone recommend a good OS website that might sell this kind of stuff? I'd rather not go ebay.

i think AU$599 with knowing its a real australian version with real australian manufacturers warranty is better than US$440 (AU$460, unknown how much shipping )with dubious warranty

For the sake of that kinda money I'd typically buy locally.

I bought a Canon EOS 450D body a fortnight ago, looked at the US prices, decided to just pay the 1150 locally or whatever it was (1270 for the body+ 4 years wty+extra battery).
