Does anyone know of a a good photo databasing program that I can store, label and easily retrieve photos?
Maybe with preview options as well. |

Web based or an app? App = iPhoto, Lightroom. Web based = Coppermine, Clickr, Picasa.

Have you tried Picasa? It really is awesome and just worth loading to see how awesome it is, even if you don't end up using it.
I'm mentally plotting out my own photo management system based on my current archive which is all folder/file based; I've decided for me the best way to manage the whole collection is to have some sort of filesystem labeling thing - like a .xml file in each directory with information about the contents and details on each photo, so when I go to back it up I know everything is getting backed up, and I don't have to worry about application weirdness. I haven't really looked to see if someone has done something similar already though. |

from what i've heard Aperture is it. Or Adobe Lightroom.
Picasa is like a poor man's Lightroom. |

Picasa stores info in your profile. Lots of info ...
We are trialing a few packages at work, after google let us down a few times. |
