what motherboard???
i found that i could throw the bios onto a USB memory stick, and when u are booting up (gigabyte) has a QuickFlash menu or something, which detects the USB as a HDD , and u can flash direct from there.

I use this to flash the bios on servers at work, is an awesome little app for turning your USB stick into a bootable drive.

This is the full download from HP but there are cut down version around.

I ask qgl before reading manuals/manufacturers websites just to make sure they aren't too scary.

The ASUS one is pretty straight forward and they practically tell you how to do it in the feature list of the motherboard.

Create bootable usb drive
Boot to dos from USB
go to location of bios file and awdflash.exe

awdflash biosname.bin
or .rom whatever the file is called

reboot when prompted after flash complete and go setup the BIOS as it will have defaulted after the flash
