"Mrs McGrath was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996. She fought a secondary cancer in her hip and in 2006 was diagnosed with a brain tumour"

what i dont get is what is the difference between fighting cancer and giving up?

in the normal day to day life, imo cancer is something that happens regardless of how much screaming you do or kakoda trails you walk while 'fighting'

explaining to me please

If you find out you have cancer you can easily give up on life, crawl into a dark hole, not have treatment and die from cancer.

Or you can get on with life, appreciate each day you have, try and better the lives of those around you, and maybe die from it

A study recently showed that a fighting spirit or positive attitude has little to do with the final outcome.

It does affect your quality of life during treatment though.

11 years with cancer is doing pretty good IMO

edit: aslong as those 11 years were enjoyable that is
