Details of the somewhat bizarre story are still unfolding, but GamePlasma.com recently had a story revealing that scenes from the new adventure game Limbo of the Lost bare a startling resemblance to areas in Oblivion. The publisher announced the following yesterday distancing itself from the actions of the game developer, Majestic:

Tri Synergy is just as shocked as everyone else is by the recent screenshot comparisons. At no point during our dealings with Majestic Studios up until the point that the comparison was first publicly made by a third party did we have any knowledge of these similarities. Additionally, Tri Synergy will discontinue distribution of Limbo of the Lost in both retail and online outlets.

We have contacted the developer, Majestic, and are anxiously awaiting their response. As soon as we know more on this matter we will issue another statement.

The screenshots in the GamePlasma.com article are pretty damning, so it sure will be interesting to see how this epic tale continues.

Now if you actually look at the screen shots I gotta say its pretty obvious they ripped off oblivion I mean its close to nearly identical and what are the chances of that many screens being the same ... like 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000 to 1

the thing that i find unbeliavable is how better oblivion looks, and its two years older than the lost game.

heh, these guys are going to get their arses kicked...unbelieveable to imagine they thought they could get away with it!

This s*** isn't even a sophisticated copy job from what I can tell so far. As it is just a 2.5D Adventure game all the Bgs are just stills. Therefore I'm fairly sure they would be just screenshots, that is why they look so close (EXACTLY!!!) to the originals.

Check the dev team!

The trailer for the game also has fly-through shots from Crysis. There's some funny stuff being said in the forums for the engine the game used.
