I'm surpised how quick the guy with the working parachute landed after the guy without the parachute.

That would have to be a tough time knowing that you are going to die within a minute or so. Although he obviously didn't die which is amazing.

lucky he landed in those bushes instead of on the sand or water. the chute plus the bushes slowed and cushioned the hit enough so that he would survive. lucky bugger.

An autopsy on Sunday found that the cause of death was massive trauma, and state police investigator Mario DiCristofaro says the death was ruled a suicide.

Carafello's co-workers tell the Times Union of Albany that he asked them frequently in recent months, "If you had to die, would you rather jump off a building or jump out of a plane without a parachute?"

Scary s***, especially since I've experienced a fall myself - obviously nothing that compares to that, but the waking up / being resuscitated on the ground is so scary

i can vouch that it hurts. i fell off a chair after drinking too much sunday night with only a cold paved floor to break my fall :'(

same company i dived with last year while in nz. they give you these sad little life jackets just in case you end up in lake taupo.... hah.
