Anyone noticed an increase of late ?
I have mine forwarding to my Exchange server (not for long) and I hadn't really looked into it too much. I was just about to go tweak IMF, or install ASSP when I realised they're all UQ based ffs. How pathetic is that ? All deutsche too http://josh.net.au/spam.PNG |

I get gmail to collect all my UQ stuff, so I guess gmail would filter it out. Haven't had any spam to my UQ so far.

No spam here on my student account. My research/staff account on the other hand, the only annoyances are:
1. When other people's private emails accidentally get forwarded to ALL research students by someone careless with Outlook/Exchange. 2. When the IT guys send out advisory update spam about servers I didn't know exist. |

I get a heap of spam. We're talking ~20 a day on average. Most of it comes from when I was on the minmet mailing listen when I had an office in the mining annex. I've made a few manual filters in thunderbird which worked pretty well for the last year or so, but lately they are getting through the filter more and more. Crafty buggers. I've considered the gmail approach as Billy suggested, but I like keeping my uq mail and gmail separate.
Also, I've never seen any deutsche spam amongst what I receive. Normally it's just the usual cheap rolex / viagra / russian women looking for love, and lately, designer shoes. |

I have 85 spam emails dated today so far and the day's only half over! I'd kill for 20 a day on average.

That's 20 that get through my filters Trog. I'd get up to 50 a day pre-filtering, but yes, I take your point.

I have received 0 spam emails to my Gmail account the entire time I've had it (when Gmail first arrived). I just don't give my address to anyone I don't trust.
Back when I used to have a Bigpond email address, it took years before I started getting spam. That happened about the same time as Gmail arrived, so I started using that instead. |

17 spams in Gmail from today so far Wait, GMail's spam filter is missing 17 mails in a single day for you? What the hell - its much better than that for me, more like 2-3 a week tops?! |

Never really used my UQ email for too much other than emailing friends and Uni people, but over time have been getting more and more spam. For the first couple of years I didn't get any, but having been at uni for 8+ years I'm now up to 20+ a day. Mainly in German at the moment for me too.
