Anyone heard of this mob? They reckon they can give us a better rate than Origin, and their service charge is better, ambo same, no connection fee, but a $75 to leave.
I'm thinking of switching, the only reason I'm sus is because I found out through a telemarketter :/ Also worried that Origin will give penalty for leaving (though they say they will try to price match if you threaten to leave too).

What do you reckon, the guy is calling back soon...

origin seems to do a lot of mail outs telling me how great they are. good to know that the benefit of increased competition is nothing but more aggressive marketing.

They were around here about 3pm today pretending to be from our current electricity provider. The guy wanted to sign us up again on a plan with lower rates. Were currently with Origin.

Queensland are apart of the Victorian Electicity group (and maybe NSW Electricity?). All they do is billing. Energex keep supplying the electricity so if there are any faults as far as I am aware you still deal with energex.

I would maybe suggest trying to ring Queensland electricity first and see how hard it is to talk to a person. No point in saving money if you can't deal with them

Wholesale / Retail is seperate. Energex is now only a wholesaler, and all of the other companies are reselling their products.

So, its not like Origin use "their own" power cables to get their juice to your house.
