i saw a few people talking about company of heroes. in an rts thread a few days ago and since ive been wondering if it is worth getting any thoughts of people who have it.

personaly the best rts to come out in recent years imo

should be pretty cheap now days too, s*** they give it away with some graphics cards.

Only just picked up the gold edition 2 days ago(for $40) here in the US and it seems quite nice so far.

ORLY? I haven't tried WiC but screenies and vids look awesome. What do you like about it over CoH?

I didn't like it but then again i'm not much of an RTS fan because I always end up going permenant defence and end up losing. I'm terrible with strategy games. Only one I was ever good at was starcraft and even then I sucked at it.

COH is da s***.
I played WIC during the beta, I didnt think it was as good in the gameplay IMO. Also, WIC needs a top end system to turn all the eye candy on.

world in conflict was more of a letdown then lego's centenary medieval castle set.

I play both WiC and CoH. I definitely prefer CoH. It's gameplay mechanics are just so awesome and balanced and it is a great 1v1 RTS. Now it has arranged 2v2 automatch ranked games too.

WiC on the other hand is a great large map multiplayer game requiring teamwork and communication. Plus the special tactical weapons (nukes, carpet bombing, airstrikes) are awesome to use.

They are two completely different RTS.

CoH is a very unique RTS, its gameplay and emphasis on micromanagement set it apart from most other games of its type. Very refreshing and fun.

I liked COH for realism and strategy until I got vehicles. Then for some reason it takes 15 shots tank to tank to blow up... yeah, that's realistic..

Other than that, it was good to play single player, but when you're done, it's goes in the cupboard.

i will also use this topic to ask for any interest 2v2 automatch players. seeking a new 2v2 partner.

Is it one of those Blizzard RTS-esque games where every online match ends in you dying to 6x peasants rushing your base in the first 90 seconds of the match?

That, or if you do manage to last longer than 5 minutes, it just becomes a micro-management clickfest?

a typical even balanced high skill level match will last around 45mins.

Coh easily my favourite RTS in years.

Buy it

$90 at eb thought it was a bit high. but that was with expansion, but he said their is a sale next week which will probably half the price so might wait till then ^.^

That superhero game? I'm not sure on the gameplay but i saw it in EB a few times and it looked pretty cool (I love superheroes, :D).

Company of Heroes is pretty good.
First time I played it I was hooked and finished
the game in one sitting (rarely I ever do this).

Recently I got World in Conflict and I'm playing
that more often now. I'd suggest this title over CoH
if you haven't already got it, it kicks ass!

i have them both and WiC. They are totally different games. In no way can you say WiC kicks ass over CoH though.

The detail in CoH is amazing, whereas WiC is quite limited in features.
