Topic: How good is Microsoft's Xbox360 customer service?

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Microsoft xbox360's customer service? I've read some horrible things about the customer service that Americans get, but at the same time the UK supposedly gets excellent customer service.

How do they compare to Nintendo customer service?

How did you find Nintendo customer service? I remember being on the phone in the queue on two separate occasions for over 45 minutes to get info on fixing my brother's Wii. If Microsoft can beat 45 minutes, then they have already won.

my gf's xbox360 died about 18 months ago, the dreaded "unknown hardware fault" fault

called the 1800 number on the weekend, they sent out a return addressed box by post which arrived Tuesday, sent it back Wednesday, received a replacement xbox on Monday of the following week.

Service was great

I've had mine in for repairs when it was freezing up during GH2

from the time I rang them (and posted my xbox the next day) I had it back and repaired in a week, no issues, no complaints A+++++ seller, recommended

Crusher/WetWired was it under warranty? If not how much was the repair cost? Also, did you get sent a refurbished one?

parabol, the one time I did called Nintendo I was speaking to an operator in about 5 minutes.

Yup, when my 360 died I gave them a call and they shot me off an email with all the details and instructions. I got my xbox back a few days before the date they predicted. Was very pleased.

mine was under warranty so it cost me nothing to send it and fix it (it was my original console repaired, not a refurb)

Same.
Really quick to answer, mine done it twice in 18 months both were very painless.

Yar, got teh red ring of death again just recently and they fixed it.

I tried to get them to give me a new model with the HDMI output, but that only happens once you get the red ring of death 3 times. This one had only had the ring of death 2 times.

But we got 1 month free xbox live access. Then again, I wasn't very pushy, I was polite and nice to the poor chump doing phone support.

It's great that they have good customer service but wtf, from the looks of it they must have saved so much money on the production process that they had some extra to use on customer service?

was excellent when i called

thought one of my controllers was bust (pointer was always upside down and none of the motion sensing was working)

nice lady at nintendo told me how to fix it (hit controller gently with hand until the pointer is right way up) and the whole call was over in 5 minutes

Red ring of death is covered by MS for 3 years I'm pretty sure, regardless of your warranty. Depends on what's wrong I guess
