I bought this cheap arse VGA cable for my 360 from hong kong and after having to unplug in and out all the time to switch between the 360 and PC, one of the pins has managed to push through and break. Does anyone here have the mad skills to fix this? or know anywhe that I could take it to get fixed reasonably cheap? a TV repair place or something perhaps?

Learn the lesson, and buy a quality cable. Time is money.

For what they're worth, I'd say you'd be better off just buying an official Microsoft, rather than paying to have your cheap one fixed.

any idea what they charge for that?

It's $50 for the official 360 VGA cable and it's not easy to find in stores. The one I got from ebay cost all of about $12 including shipping, so even if I have to pay $10 bucks or something to get it fixed, no big deal

I actually just bought a VGA switch to use to stop having to plug it in and out all the time, ironically it was plugging it into the switch that f***ed it :(

it's job that falls outside of the company's scope.

techs take on this stuff just so they don't have to live thru the day to day boredom of 2nd/3rd tier tech support

I'd say ring the guy and ask him.. he's a dude - even if he's not a gamer

If it is a moulded cable then it is only going to be dodgy job no matter who does it.

not very, it's sitting right next to a switch box which in turn is right next to the monitor

it's a 360 VGA cable though?

Are they different to your standard VGA? If so i can just fix your current one for you, can the end be taken apart?

it has a different plug at one end which goes into the 360, otherwise they are the same, it's just one pin that is broken, the rest are fine, either it just needs a new pin soldered in place or rewired the entire plug with a new one, I have a spare head off another cable if need be
