I'm not surprised at all. I threw a working 19" crt onto the street pickup a few weeks ago lol. LCD is king now.

For example umart doesn't even stock 15" lcd monitors most people are buying at least 20" aseef you would pickup a 2nd hand crt when LCD is so cheap

Though i still love my 17" crt

hahaha that's hilarious spook. I for one would like a 19" monitor. At the moment I have a 15" CRT as a backup in storage in case something happens to my LCD and I need to use the computer before I can make it to the shops, but then again I have other computers around the house I could use (not to mention a laptop). We are such yuppies these days.

they charge you $15 here for each monitor you take to the dump.

I just take mine to sydney for council pickup days.

I still got my 19" CRT. I don't mind them. I wouldn't buy one now though.

5 monitors all up. family took them back with them after objecting to having to pay the money when they get picked up for free in sydney.

same with old computers, you pay $15 per box to dump it.

in sydney each suburb has a council pickup day every few months. Everyone puts all sorts of s*** on the street then the council comes along and picks it up for free. It makes sydney look even more some 3rd world povo s*** hole with old fridges, couches and broken TVs in huge piles all along the side of the street.

why can't you just use an LCD in an arcade cabinet?

You can't have an LCD screen sitting at an angle because all the color stuff runs outta the crystals and the screen looks like one big messy rainbow.
