Peter Molyneux unveiled a couple of new Fable 2 features at GDC - the first was shown yesterday in some sneak previews behind closed doors to some lucky press (including me!), and the second was announced today during the Microsoft keynote presentation. Want to know what they were? Read our Fable 2 feature for the story.

(Summary: dynamic co-operative play and independent XBLA mini-games that will integrate with the main game.)

Pretty cool that you got to meet Peter. So should have addressed him as Mr Mollynucks.

I wasn't too wowed by the first Fable but this one's looking like a better game all round.

I was hoping to have some time to tell him the tale of how, when I was a kid, I saw a picture of Populous in an American computer magazine my dad brought back to Australia. Just a single screenshot and maybe a hundred words of text about it, but I was like - f***, this game looks awesome!

I waited about 18 months for it to come out in Australia and somehow managed to convince my parents to buy it for me. It came in this s***ty plastic case on 5.25" floppies (maybe even a single disk, can't remember). I loved that game so much; I'd get into these epic 3 hour sessions where I would almost be wiped out and then just managed to come back - to progress to the next of the 999 levels.

I actually tried to bust it out a couple weeks ago but I couldn't get it working under XP or even from a PC-DOS bootdisk; I'd love to try it again though. I don't normally go in for that RPG shenanigans but I'm intrigued by the co-op notion.

I just remember furiously lowering the land around the enemy god's people so they all drowned. Oh and miles of perfectly upgraded buildings. So shiny.
