Been buyin a few tracks lately from www.beatport.com, which is an absolute gem of a site if your into electronic music.

I love the fact that once you find a decent track you can then follow the trail of whoever remixed it, produced it or what record label it is to find even more awesome unknown tracks. They are always in chronological order too if your preference is for fresh beats which is also useful.

http://rs40.rapidshare.com/files/92739105/080217_-_Sloppyjoesampler_.mp3

Made a little mix the other night with some fresh beats straight from the port, all 320kbit and all totally legit.

www.beatport.com = da bomb

Edit:- Cheers for the host josh - http://josh.net.au/gaz/ <-- this one works a treat.

i'm pretty happy with the quality of the mp3's, sounds pretty solid on a decent system. Not as good as vinyl though.. mmm vinyl.

Little mix! It's 91mb

Well I would if I could get more then 10kbps from rapidshare.

well its only 39 mins, needed to get it under 100 meg!

i like to have em around the 75 - 80 minute mark so they fit on audio cd's, from that point of view, its half a set!

I dont wanna distribute s***e quality sound either though, most people here have broadband so alls should be dandy.

ozspeedtest says I'm getting 350kbps from TPG, but Rapidshare is only 10kbps.

Sounds like you did a great job though so I'll just leave the PC on.
Awaiting final verdict...

quality is all over the shop with soulseek

theres no better resource though for electronica

soulseek blows imo. users are often dorks that stop sharing as soon as they see you leeching. half teh time the tracks are named incorrectly. quality is mostly s***house... some tracks i dl'ed were 320kbps but the quality made it obvious they were s***ty re-encodes.

the best resource for electronica is irc distro chans & ftps plz.

i must say, listning to it on a decent system (all alpine type R mit sub etc.) makes a massive difference as compared to my lappy speakers.

Do people know stuff and things about mastering tracks ? Quebase?

if you're using music to dj sifn't buy it... it's a couple of dollars a track.

most dance music producers aren't rolling in it - pretty selfish not to buy them imo. i never pirate tracks for my decks unless it's impossible to buy it.

if it's just for general listening then i don't really care though.

yeah i have a few tracks i'm after but cant actually buy off beatport, might try soulseek to try nab em. Unless you know a place to buy inspiration - krafty kuts remix, that track is rockin progressive breaks.

Do you record any of your stuff taggs? Should whack a mix up for us office sluggers to listen to at work.

yeah hangin out to do one soon, just waiting for my next pay to buy a decent soundcard >< then i'll be churning out my prog mixes like a fiend hopefully.

if you can't get it off beatport due to territory restrictions there's a site around which can proxy for you so you can nab em. sometimes you have to check other sites too which is annoying cause you go from beatport's simple and shiney interface to crappy clutserf*** websites. wouldn't know about that particular track though i do love a good dose of tasty breaks i'll grab that mix and listen to it on the way to work tomoz.

fark man, if you've been buyin propper trax i have about 2 gig of fairly fresh stuff i'd be happy to swap. Mainly prog house, electro, breaks and a little tech house.

U heard of Shilo before? I have a fair bit of his stuff, its more on the trancy end of house though but really quite unique.

edit:- also i dont go out much anymore man, unless its some kind of festival or summit. think i'm goin grey too.

last few gigs i've been to @ uber were pretty crap coz of thier sound restrictions. tis a pity coz they are about the only 'big' club doing international dnb acts... but more of a pity when you lobb up for some phat dnb & get phat drums with piddly bass :/

i'm kinda over ltj as well... that glr sound is too old imo. i saw him n conrade @ family when 33&1/3 crew put 'em on & i doubt it's ever gonna be phatter than that was :D

ifs yas wanna hear some phaaat dnb i recommend the rudebwoyz at the stepinn this sat night! :D

heh, last time i was at rude boys it was after a solid drinking session and me n my mate were dancin around like d*******s. Anyways this dude about 4ft nothing wearin train hat came storming in, ran straight into my mates beer which tipped all over his head and proceeded to pick us!

hahah, i was scared man.. angry little dude. I think we were a little too drunk to be in there :D

p.s. we fled away from the littleman.
