Massive Entertainment had previously revealed that an Xbox 360 version of their well-received RTS World in Conflict was in the works; today it was officially announced that the game is now due on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

"World in Conflict was one of the best games on any platform in 2007 and its innovative action-focused gameplay makes it a perfect fit for the transition to consoles,” said Martin Tremblay, president of worldwide studios, Sierra Entertainment. “World in Conflict is being reinvented for Xbox 360 and the PLAYSTATION 3 system, with innovative features and new single player and multiplayer content created for the console audience. World in Conflict on consoles will be an amazing extension of an already great gaming franchise.”

AusGamers listed World in Conflict among the top 5 PC titles of 2007; look out for it on consoles in this (Aussie) Spring 2008. While some might argue that RTS games have no place on console, WiC might prove slightly different with it's FPS-style camera mechanics and focus on smaller groups of units. i wish cod4 hadn't totally stolen me away from this game, it's a fricken good game

cod4 is good, wic is good but i just cant put coh down.

one good thing though is the latest WIC patch (just released) has introduced a forced ranking balance on ranked servers so there is no more team stacking. it makes it so much more fun now.

cod4's competitive multiplayer is flawless. it is teh sex.
