I read something on Scientology ages ago, about the son of Hubbard? who was a pretty high up dude, and some of the s*** that he said/did was pretty f***ed up.

if ever there was a reason to create sub-forums on QGL it would great to gather up all the scientology threads and place them somewhere for only people that care.

a) Science fiction writers are just as capable of having potentially good thoughts about realistic topics as anyone else. L Ron's problem is he was crazy as a loon, not that he was a science fiction writer.

b) It could arguably be assumed that Charles Manson considers normal society "TOO CRAZY" to become a part of. This has no merit.

c) I would probably consider Richard Simmons to be a reputable authority on someone being too gay. It takes one to know one. Your metaphor is about as valid as a train ticket from 1939.

This isn't a defense of scientology, i personally think its a retarded and in some ways dangerous scam. But it is stupid posts like this one that are used as propaganda for "how stupid the arguments against scientology are". Do the world a favour and shut up.

science comes from scientology, you see newton and einstein were scientologists, so they decided to call the work they did: scientes (which later became science).

i had a quick look at scientology with my friends just out of curiosity. Along the way i met an Operating Thenat level III he said "we have a paladin, druid, shaman and a priest and we're looking for a healer, lvl VIII"

a lvl Viii healer would be pretty useless no? he would get agro pretty easily

especially if a lvl III pally or drood is tanking.

And really... if you've got a drood, shammy and priest i think you'd be more looking for dps. Of course it doesn't sound as good to say "we have a warrior and a lot of rogues".

Yeah pretty scary stuff. We can ignore the major religions most of the time because they're fairly placid (they already have the power they want). Scientology doesn't seem to want to stop at anything, though. We have to do something.
