Daft punk and Kayne live @ the grammys.

Listen to the crowd go nuts when Kayne introduces the Daft solo.

Kanye does not deserve to be on the same stage.

it was cool to get an over the shoulder perspective to see what they actually did up there in that pyramid. definately worth the watch.

They are cool and stuff live, but I really wish they didn't show the inside of the pyramid. It really breaks the illusion they are actually doing something.

Also, I think I must be the only person to not get Kanye or why people like him?

edit: obviously not. that's good.

ccl if you think they were just pushing random things that don't actually do anything you're sorely mistaken.

kr0wbar: that looks nothing like the devices they had in this video. I don't think they were doing anything. Really how can you even know it's Daft Punk? They could be like Mr and Mrs Santa Claus - you never know if it's really them on stage.

edit, I especially like Kanye significant vocal contribution to Billie Jean 2008:

ama, you think kanye west brought DP to the masses..YOU ARE A JOKE!!

DP didn't need kanyes help to be recognised, they are pioneers or house/electro house music..kanye wouldn't have another number 1 hit if it wasn't for DP..

what they showed them doing in the pyramid for the grammys was probably for show I've never seen any kind of musical equipment that looks like that...

but if you're implying that they don't do anything at their live shows you must be severely retarded.

they mix live using midi controllers and ableton, which is really quite f***ing hard and totally different to your standard 2+ decks + mixer dj. they also use synths at the same time - no easy feat. this means they can edit, change, deconstruct, f*** with, etc. songs all on the fly.

did you even see them live? =/

edit: ps damo is right

they are not pioneers by a long shot and your an idiot because there is only one other song that is played on radio and tv by them and that is one more time. Try again

They were prolly just pushing random flashy touch pads, but if they weren't that is indeed 1 of the best looking dj machine things i've ever seen.

thomas bangalter, along with daft punk, influenced modern dance music so drastically that there wouldn't be many modern electronic dance music artists that aren't influenced by them (edit for ama the tard) in house/electro, by far the most dominant genres.

you don't really have a clue.

i remember sitting at the dirty netcafe on adelaide st near caesars and they would always have one more time on atleast once everytime i was there

pretty much all modern house/electro and sub-genres were influenced by them, yes.

thomas bangalter, and daft punk, was one of the leading figures of the french house music movement in the 90's. this sound has pretty much become by far the most dominant sound in modern dance music and has influenced pretty much all modern house/electro.

Kanye should stick to heavily produced studio singles. He should not "do" live shouting etc.

I was on some Kanye West - Stronger video on youtube, and all the comments below were dissing Daft Punk. People were saying how stupid and off the Daft Punk song was before Kanye came along, and how they turned the Daft Punk song off after only a few seconds, and how nobody can sing as amazingly as Kanye. I was boggled.

Cheers for proving my point.

..

Taggs, yes I've seen them live and I know they do "stuff". My point was purely concerning the Grammy show and how incredibly lame it looked.

reading comprehesion, please stop failing. look up, i edited just for you and before you made that retarded straw man argument. also armin usually opens asot with prog, and if you knew anything about prog these days you'd know that it's being influenced quite a bit by electro atm. guess what a huge influence on modern electro/house is?!

edit ccl: ah kk wasn't sure which you were referring to, the grammys bit sure did look lame =/

not into their music much but it is catchy at times.

i cant help but see the similarity between that song
better longer stronger whatever it is (you know the one)
with that gay idol song. boys who like girls who like boys etc etc (you also know the one)

i think that performance in the original clip was pretty ordinary also.
maybe cause of whats a ma call it.

i also find it strange how close they like to stand next to each other while they are doing their show. i'm sure they can afford two pair of headphones.

I will deal with this in time.. through weekly counselling or something.. but

My whole life, I have no regrets, EXCEPT, when my mate said on MSN, hai dude, I'm getting tickets to Daft Punk, want in? And I was like meh, nah, cant afford it, cbf..

Epoch fail.

I reckon ama did a good job trolling.

I'm kind of with paves, but I can understand why you all like them. Their live act is very cool and I'm sure it was a great show. The music just never really did it for me, especially when you compare it to a gig like, well - Sasha & Digweed. There is nothing Daft Punk influenced about that.
