this site is offering cold hard cash for Christian schools in the US to take their students to go and see Get Expelled, a movie that (from the about page anyway) appears to champion Intelligent Design:
Ben realizes that he has been “Expelled,” and that educators and scientists are being ridiculed, denied tenure and even fired – for the “crime” of merely believing that there might be evidence of “design” in nature, and that perhaps life is not just the result of accidental, random chance.
(I've subscribed to RichardDawkins.net's RSS feed so I'm reading a lot of evolution vs creationism stuff atm)

richard dawkins rocks me
the god delusion was a great read, and the root of all evil was a good show to watch. the religious people he interviewed were quite frightening in their zealotry.

no suprises christian folk are promoting christian views. by giving away money as an incentive to see the film, theyll likely draw more people into their fantasy world. its a real shame when people convert or get born again etc. although those people probably didnt stand much of a chance by going to a christian school to start with.

As opposed to athiests promoting athiest views? It's no different really, everyone has their own beliefs and opinions and will try to promote their belief and point of view .. some moreso than others.

Any religious-related thread on QGL would be good examples. It's true they are different, it always seems like anti-religious people get worked up and froth at the mouth even when nobody is arguing against them .. it's hilarious to read :D

It seems to be to be a little bit philosophically objectionably to have to pay people cash to try to make them "believe more" in a creationist point of view.

If they really believe it, they should be doing it out of faith. Doing it for money is what whores do.

This just reeks of a desperate last ditch attempt to try to popularise the rubbish that is Intelligent Design.

I wasn't replying to what you wrote Trog, I was just replying to the way Freewheelin worded his comment :) I do believe it's stupid to pay groups to encourage their members/students to go and see something. Also Intelligent Design is the gayest name ever.

Hehe nah, just normal people.

but we all know evolution is wrong. We re-discover this fact every time we open Peanut butter and there's no 'new life' inside the jar.

Atheism. A non-prophet organization.

As much as I'd love to help give these people some rational thought, I'd rather them be sent to the showers. They're just a thorn in society, with brains clearly not correctly functioning. We're better off without them :)
