Righto, I am sitting here on a Sunday night trying to work out where I am going to travel this year.

Places I've already been

Paris - Did the Lourve, Notre Dame, Arc de Triumphe, Eiffle Tower, Champs-Elysees, Catacombes (I see dead people!)
Endinburgh - Edinburgh Castle, Murrayfield
Newcastle - was there to catch up with family...
London - pretty much everything there, been there a good number of times to visit mates, seen football (soccer) matches Aresenal, Liverpool & Aus v Nigeria
Budapest - Buda and Pest, cruise etc
Salzburg - All the sights (and the sound of music tour, was roped in, honest!)
Wales - Millenium Stadium, and various pubs - was there for the Rugby World Cup, awesome day!
Amsterdam - Wander around the city, Anne Frank House, red light district & smoked pot
Ireland - Driven around the complete costline of Ireland, good times.
Aside from that I've been to New York since being o/s

Places in Europe that I still want to visit

Italy - Venice, Rome, Pisa Florence are all places I want to see
Germany - a number of places I want to go, Oktoberfest, plus drive on the autobahn!!
Spain - Barcelona and Costa del sol, Pamplona - Running of the Bulls!!
Sweden - Stockholm
Russia - St Petesburg
Greece - Just reckon this would be a cool place to go!
Czec Republic - Prague

Also want to go to Gallipoli but that won't be this year as I an in Aus for Anzac day this year, I'll head there next year

I am planing to see most of the above this year at some stage.... what other places in Europe are worth visiting? I have I missed something obvious?!?!

2009 - I want follow the Ashes, watch all of the test matches and s***, can't wait for that!

I'm in Poland now, thought stuff would be cheap but the zloty is holding well and the aussie dollar is worth 30% less than the last time I was here. Krakow which was Poland's second capital (Auschwitz is nearby) is a cool place to see with good pubs and clubs as well as a lot of historical stuff to see, medival castle from the 1400's, old market square, underground salt mines with carved out chapels and statues.

Lake Baikal in Siberia is nice but not sure if its a good destination for winter, Iceland is a place i'd like to see, flights out of the UK to Rejkavik are pretty reasonable. Icebergs, glaciers, water skiing next to a glacier, hot springs, drinking.

Venice was OK (i was there 2 weeks ago) but being a major tourist destination most Venecians were a tad rude and not so keen on tourists, maybe its different in summer but i doubt that seeing winter is the 'quiet season'.

Plenty more good places to see but it escapes me for now, I'd probably try egypt too and scuba diving on the red sea, flights out of the uK pretty cheap once again.

Yeah Stockholm is wicked, one of my favourite places I've been. Have thought about relocating there if I could find something good to do.

I would add in a tour of Scotland - I did the Haggis tour (which I think everyone does) and it was f***ing awesome. They have various options; we just did the 3 day which was a good way to do it quickly and (relatively) cheaply. If I had more time though I'd either look at their 10(?) day option, but I think I'd be more likely to rent a car and drive around the whole place - I would have liked to have spent some more time at Loch Ness and wanted to go right up to the extreme north as wel.

probably sounds cliche but the greek islands are awesome, i suggest Santorini over Corfu and Mykinos. Also Crete rules, has a man/women ratio of 1 to 5 and they're all 10/10, it's a very special place. Cyprus & Morocco are also very cool.

Yeah Scotland gets my vote aswell as my Grandmother lives in Crief in Perthshire. It's easy to get around the countryside is beautiful the people are awesome. If you choose to stay there for a litte while I'd suggest staying at a B&B. They have a pretty big price range so you can always find something to suit plus staying with people from the area gives you access to a good source of local knowledge.

Scotland is one of my favourite places in the world and I guess thats probably got to do more with the people than the place itself. Although I am a real sucker for beautiful green countryside.
