Got one of these yesterday and I couldn't be happier.

Passes the 'fat finger' test admirably.

Also in that review:

Unlike most touch-screens which are covered by a flexible sheet of plastic (used so the screen can sense touch input), this one comes with a hard plastic surface which usually protects non-touch-screen phones. I’m not sure why this material has been used because it makes touch-screen input more difficult – you need to push hard on the screen for the phone to detect your touch, whether with fingers or a stylus. Perhaps it was to make it more scratch resistant, but during my testing session it somehow became scratched in a pocket that had nothing else in it. This cover also distorted backlight colours, creating a grainy look that was absolutely horrible when the screen displayed a white background. It’s the type of grainy look you usually get when the screen is covered in heavy fingerprints, but no amount of cleaning was able to get rid of it in the Touch’s case.

Haha retard didn't put the plastic shield onto the screen and scratched the buggary out of it.

Thats a pretty poor review...

If you read it before you bought the phone, why did you then buy it?

You reckon? I read a bunch of reviews and posted this one because it was thorough.

In Summary (Average total score: 3.86 stars) [out of 5]

The HTC Touch is a great device, coming with a well-rounded feature set and its original touch-based interaction software. Its two megapixel camera is half-decent, and Wi-Fi access is great if you have a hotspot at home or frequent places with them. I couldn’t help but feel that the TouchFLO software is either incomplete or restricted by some of the fundamental traits of Windows Mobile. I’d love to see HTC extend the software further, perhaps making it easier to type letters onto the screen using it.

As I’ve already mentioned, the lack of 3G hurts the Touch a lot. Only Telstra supports EDGE in Australia, meaning on-site internet access has to happen at the painfully slow speed of GPRS. If you’re in a Wi-Fi hotspot then you won’t have a problem, but otherwise, you won’t want to access the internet with the Touch that often.

The Touch should be readily available now, with Optus, Vodafone and several IT retailers selling the device. It retails for $699.

The stuff he complains about I just don't care about. I found the interface very usable and I think he suffered a LOT because he didn't put the plastic sheet on the glass. I use Wi-Fi for internet access and just don't care about video calls etc. at all. I much, much, much prefer wi-fi and GSM over (expensive) 3G features.

Being a Windows software developer a Windows Mobile device is absolutely paramount to my needs - as I said I am 100% happy with this phone, a+++ would buy again ;)
