I know many of you have this setup so you can stream media to the 360. Mine seems to be very temperamental and drops out whenever the computer is reset and then is a complete bitch to setup again.
Computer is running vista and the only firewall is the windows one. I have 2 network cards: - one is onboard that is connected directly to the cable modem - the other is a PCI card that is connected to the 360 I know pretty much sfa when is comes to networking – but the network that the xbox is on always seems to go back to ‘public network’ when its reset and then media sharing is disabled till I change it back again. Do I need to specify an IP for the xbox and computer or can I leave it all on auto? I mainly just want to stream the media through the dashboard but if I can get so the xbox can also connect to xbox live then even better. Is there an easy way to do this? (yes I’ve googled and gone through media sharing in media player 11 etc. and it lists the files but most times wont play any of them) Cheers for any help… |
