Hey guys, my clan needs a few Aussie members to come and join up, hop on vent, and do some gaming for when the DARKFALL beta comes out.

The darkfall beta will be initially clan-only, so it's a good idea to join up with a long-lasting clan and be active so you get a beta spot.

Clan forums

Darkfall website

So if you're interested, go register, and put in your application after reading the stickies.

Clan History-
IMAGE has been together for 5 years now. We started out playing Americas Army together back in 2002. 2 original members remain with additional members that have been with the guild 3+ years. Recently we have decided to try our hand at a competitive conquest MMORPG. We believe our experience with FPS will serve us well in Darkfall. We also currently also looking at Age of Conan until Darkfall releases.

We currently play Shadowbane, and you will be expected to join us on Shadowbane or any other game like Americas Army that we are playing as a unit.

IMAGE is an Orc + Mahrim guild, primarily focusing on conquest and NvN pvp. We are looking for all types of players, crafters, fighters, ranged, everyone is welcome.

IMAGE is organized as a loose dictatorship with an advisory council. Anyone can join the advisory council once they have shown a long term commitment to the guild.

As far as member responsibility goes, if you are looking to lead groups, have responsibility, belong to a controlled tight knit unit, you should take a look at us. We have a military structure with concern to our units and as a member given time you can grow to command troops.

Please IM me, LanMandragon, with any questions or visit our website www.imageclan.com

Are you planning to be a PvP Clan or predominately a PvE clan?

Looks very PvP orientated from that Vid

We're a PvP clan, experienced in setting up cities. Our leader (Lan/prophet) is a high ranked member of the Darkfall forums, with 6000+ posts, so our chances of getting in are pretty high.

organised, but a good clan needs all types of people to be successful in DF. We'll need PvPers, strategies, squads, leaders and craftsmen/support members, not retards, so yes you do need to be "good".

We have cavalry(scout), infantry, and ranged divisions, all pretty structured.

In order for a guaranteed beta spot you'll need to be active, practice strategies and get to know members in Shadowbane when possible, + get on vent.

It's an alright clan. :)

Darkfall started development back in 2001 I believe.
It is making lots of promises, that if they come true will be a pvpers wet dream.

I personally would like to see the filthy inbred ork/mahirim clan known as IMAGE all walk off a cliff like lemmings... mainly because I come from a Mirdain (basically elf) clan. Their ork axes tend to interfer with our tree hugging and so forth, so we have to ambush them if they ever come near our forests ;)

Yes I am making a quick plug for the clan I am in www.oromea.com
I am a aussie myself and we have about 6-7 aussies in total, as well as a NZer.

The game wont be out for sometime, we are hoping for beta later this year.. hoping.

Full pvp, full loot, city building/destroying is not for everyone and especially not for carebears.

A little about Oromea, if anyone is still reading this ;)

We are a pure Mirdain clan and at our most basic level we are looking to defend the forests, although we realise that this will be an extremely large and almost impossible task. We do not have someone who has posted 6000 posts on the DF forums, but we do have maturity, community, teamwork and generally good times. We play other games while we wait and although we have lore and background to our clan to increase immersion, roleplaying is not required in our clan.. although respect and maturity is.
If you want to know more, drop by the website sometime for a chat.

That's one hell of a necropost.

Thought I might add that I've left IMAGE since it was, as J said, a huge f***ing timesink. I can't afford that in my senior years, so don't contact me if you're looking for membership.

I played Shadowbane for a long time many years ago and if it's as hard on people as that I'd love it.

I played wow for almost the entire 3 years of it being out but my heart was never really in it simply because of it's carebear nature. I just stuck around because some good friends played it.

I just hope Darfall does what it says it will and that the crying little carebears from wow don't come over.

Shadowbane took me through some huge highs and some (for a lack of a better way of putting it)soul destorying lows. Weeks of building a town and then some a****** guild puts a bane circle on it. If you don't have back up you are screwed.

The up side to this was that you had to be good with diplomacy and now and then that ment swallowing your pride. It was a good leveler and for many people kept them from being the kinds of d*******s we see infesting wow. People that continued to be a******s were pretty much run off the server and had to start elsewhere and I loved that players could have that kind of impact in a persistent world.

Of course if you had one all powerful guild on your server that were pricks it was tough as hell to gain a foothold but fun none the less. My old guild once destroyed 14 towns belonging to the bigest guild on the server. It totaly shattered them and they left the server. Doesn't sound nice I know but they had for months plagued us and we organized stood up and smashed them. It was made even sweeter by the fact that they were chinese and they recruited members by openly portraying us on the forums as white racists.

Just a little example of how badly you could get busted up. I was tranfering some cash and items between myself and a friend when I got ganked in our own bank. I lost 100 million gold and an inventory full of the rarest runes in the game. Not to mention a number of deeds for vendors and buildings.

Took me a long time to rebuild the gold but thats the risk you take playing a game that isn't for carebears.

They should hire some animators who don't suck balls.

Haha, do you enjoy getting punished or something? Personally I play games to relax and have fun, not to be bent over and f***ed up the ass, but each to their own I spose.

10,000 simultaneous players is a bit gay

Khel, most people play games to have fun and relax ;)

Its just that FFA PVP games like Shadowbane offer a greater challenge to players. I suppose it could be likened to a horror movie where you are always on your toes waiting for the aliens to jump down from the roof and rip you to threads...

There is a great thrill in competing against other players instead of computer opponents that need mountains of HP to stand a chance against us.

Yeah, I get the thrill of no holds barred PVP, what I was referring to more was spending hours, and hours, and hours amassing all that virtual wealth, to just have it raped from you. That'd be soul destroying, I can't imagine any possible way that could be considered fun :(

Yeah khel is was pretty tough to lose that kind of cash an items. But I didn't come by all that wealth by playing nice either. A good portion of the cash came from NPC vendors I owned which made money from players buying there stuff. The runes and other rare stuff I got through a combination of stealing (with my thief) and farming a few select areas and players.

At some point in Shadowbane you were going to get screwed but in saying that you had the chance to get plenty of payback aswell. The old saying what goes around comes around was for the most part very true in SB. You also need to remember that gaining wealth in SB was different than say wow. I could find some lazy AFK pleb being power leveled in SB and go through his inventory with my thief. Sometimes I might not get much however if the guy had been afk for hours I might pull $200k out of his bags or maybe even more.

It was fun for me simply because it often had you hanging on the edge of your seat as you were almost always in a state of readiness. I mean tearing down someones city that had been remorselessly bashing you for ages really did feel great. Although that being said you at times actually did feel for them which is something you would never find in an FPS or carebear MMO.

People that acted all tough and totaly antisocial because of their aparent huge epeens were regularly humbled and turned into decent law abiding citizens of the server. Or if they were to stupid to realize shutting their yap was a good idea or they just shouldn't f*** with you they could be literally ran off the server.

How tough you made it on yourself was really what the game was all about. It was upto you to find like minded players and get along. If you wanted to be an asshat then you better be prepared to suffer having dozens and sometimes even 100's of people hunting your ass down. The other thing was inter guild diplomacy which was at times critical to your guilds survival and as I mentionsed earlier sometimes it ment swallowing your pride in order to get things done.

Shadowbane represented what real world socienty without any rules would be like and I loved it.

(edit) Sorry about the length of this and the spelling, although I haven't checked it I know what I am like when I have just crawled out of bed :)

Well said Taipan, I cant say I disagree with you at all.

The thrill of attacking a city was incredible.
No longer do you farm those npc mobs all day and think you have it licked, you got to keep your guard up incase a group of people come from no where and tear you apart.
Good times for sure.
The restart will make things very interesting.
