The weekend just gone I was kindly invited along to my girlfriend's work's Christmas party, where we got to spend 3 days on Fraser staying at Kingfisher Resort.

I must say, after camping on Fraser approx. 1.7 million times, it was a nice change to be able to take it easy in an air-con villa. Although I still prefer camping, and recommend it over staying in the resort, it is by far the nicest of the 3 or 4 resorts on the island.

We usually camp up at waddy point, or stay at my uncles house on orchid beach.

Anyway, some pics!

Our convoy of cars.

Some mad rain forest's on the island, growing back strong since they used to log the s*** out of the place, these are the roads from eurong to kingfisher, some of the best on the island although very bumpy (as you can see from some of the pics).

The convoy at eurong, I was driving my brothers car, which is the patrol centre image about 10m off the ground.

Another convoy shot waiting for the barge home

All 4 wheels rooster-tailing up a small hill in about 50cm of powder. The woes of not having any weight in the back, the ass was bouncing all over the shop, spraying sand on to every other car behind me :)

Nice Casa.

Been to Fraser Dozens of times myself and it still impresses me every time.
Your bro should bring his beast out with us 4x4ing some time!

Looks like a 3-4" at least, which isn't too far off Jims. Looks like it's been taken care of to, but we can fix that.

Went to lake mckenzie for like the 3rd or 4th time, never dissapoints. Clear water, fresh (drinkable) not alot of people, pure white sand... bloody lovely!

I've also been to Lake Wabby, which is also a nice clear lake with a massive sand-dune up one side of it which dead-set lands straight into the water... its mad to get a boogie board and run up top, fly down the sand-dune, then fly across the water.

I was at Fraiser Island last weekend too.

I assume the group you were with was the group having dinner with all the party hats and lays. and had the big f***-off canoe filled with seafood.

My girlfriend works for Sunlover Holidays so we always get cheap trips and accomodation. Barely cost us anything to go for 3 days and do a full day tour.

And cause of her job, we got a 20min flight over island for 1/4 the price.

Beautiful island. Especially Lake Mckenzie. And the hundreds of hot backpackers arn't exactly an eyesore either.

haha what a coincidence Mantis, but no, we saw that group, we had a group of 30 having dinner just behind that seafood canoe.
