We told you we'd let you know the actual Aussie release date for one of the year's most anticipated titles, and well... here we are, telling you. At any rate, Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed has, in fact, gone gold.
Ubisoft announce its highly anticipated Assassin's Creed video game has gone "gold" and is set to launch in EMEA on November 15, 2007. The title is one of the most anticipated games for the holiday season, arriving on the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

"We've been working very hard for nearly four years to make Assassin's Creed a reality and now there is a confirmed date when players will get to experience the results of our efforts," shared Jade Raymond, producer of Assassin's Creed. "This is a huge event for the team. Our biggest reward will be everyone having a lot of good solid fun."
We have a stack of media for this game which you can find by clicking here or checking out the initial story link. Stay tuned for our massive review of the game in the coming weeks.

Europe, The Middle-East and Africa. PAL standard lumps Aus/NZ in with Europe most of the time.

Speaking of standards, if I ordered this game from the states what's the chances of it working on an Aust. Xbox? The reason I ask is even with $35 shipping fee it works out cheaper to order a couple of games from the US then it does to get them local. To get Assassins Creed and Mass Effect special editions it works out to $188AU from EB in the US.

Still a big gamble, but your odds probably aren't too bad. Most Ubi games seem to be region free and some MicroSoft Games Studios have also been.

Still, not something to really depend on. Guess you can always turn around and hock them on US ebay if they don't work.

I dunno wtf they were thinking.

They were thinking of making it for console, which is what they did. Its never been a PC game, from the moment it was announced its always been a console game. I'm not sure a PC version has even been officially announced yet?

Considering they were saying that it was going to be on PC since the start, I would say that makes it a game that's on consoles, rather than a console game. Why not release it at the same time as consoles if they've had the same amount of time to develop it? I would imagine that it would be far easier to develop something for a pc, because you don't have to work within the boundaries of console hardware.

Doesn't seem fair to the fans, just to rush it out to a select few, while making a quick buck at christmas.

It was never on PC from the start, when it was very first announced it was a PS3 'exclusive' and then became PS3 and XBox 360, never did PC enter into the equation. It was never shown running on a PC, it was never publicised as being available for the PC, there was not even any stray comments or rumours floating around that it would come out on PC at the same time as consoles. So I'm not quite sure why your nose is out of joint, its not like they're sprung this on you at the last second.

And its really not any easier to develop for PC, with a console at least you know the hardware, you know what the limitations are, and you can work within that. With a PC you're trying to hit a moving target, in amongst a sea of a thousand other moving targets.

If you're too closed minded to appreciate console gaming, then thats your loss, but its hardly a case for Ubisoft being c***s. Trying to say they're rushing this out for Christmas is just insane, its been in production for 4+ years, how can taking 4 years to make a game possibly be construed as rushing it.

But really, come November 15th I wont care, cos I'll be picking up my copy of Assassin's Creed and rushing home to post spoilers on QGL just for you.

Lol, you're taking this so personally, huh?

Yeah, sorry, I over-reacted a bit, had a really s***ty day and I thought this was heading towards being another PC vs Consoles thread so I fired up :P

I really never heard anything about it ever being for PC though, first I heard of it was E3 a few years ago when it was a PS3 exclusive. Had a quick look on Gamespot but their Assassin's Creed news doesn't really go back and furthur than late 2005, and no mention of PC there either, so I dunno what happened before that. But I know that at least since then, its been console only. And the mid-november date has been unofficial for a few months now at least, cos I pre-ordered mine a couple of months ago and while there was no set date for it, mid november was the 'vibe' going around at the time. Guess it'll be obvious once we get our hands on it whether it was rushed out the door ot not.
