Okay it is time to figure this s*** out. Whenever I put a pen in my pocket for the night at the end of the night ink has pooled up in the back of the pen and the pen is f***ed. I mentioned this to one of the guys at work last night and he said the same thing happened to him so that proves it isn't some ancient voodoo pen curse that has been put on me.

My only theory as to why it is happening is that there is constant pressure on the ball and that is f***ing the pen up, but I think it may have happened once when my pen had a lid.

if it's a ball point pen & there is pressure on the ball then ink will flow. whoda thunk'd it!?

Why does it pool up at the back of the pen?

i dunno. gravity? vectorial centrifugal forces? lorenz attraction? it's a mystery.

i carry pens 24/7 and never happens. wtf are you using your pens for?

Well I use it to sign on, write down incident details and then sign off.

And yes demon I realise how pointless this all sounds but the clincher was when I found it it happened to other people I had to find out !@!@@!

Carry one with me when I'm at work. Point down, clip over pocket so it's suspended.

I always have mine in my pocket at work and it never f***s up. Maybe because it's a Cross brand and it's expensive.

Heat, contact with fabric, and change in pressure of the pen will usually cause ink to go to s***s in your pocket.

back in the day when i had to have a pen with me at all times, it always rode on my ear

they were the cheapest of pens, but there was no leakage and i could jot down important details withour fear of a non working pen
