So apparently there's a new Halo game being released next week, anyone here looking forward to it?

I was never much of a Halo fan, (pft FPS on a console right?) played through 1 and 2, although never on PC. But I have to admit, playing multiplayer lan games with more Xbox minded people gave me a good taste of why these games are so popular.

Halo 3 hits Australian shelves on September 25, and there's some limited edition version that comes with a master chief helmet that your cat can wear.

i think i'll get it early next month. should be good, but its being so anti-hyped by its own hype machine. its weird.

i didnt play the halo 3 beta, but i think i'll be looking forward to COD4 a little more, even though its still just f***ing CS. but my opinion could change after i play a bit of Halo 3.

Good game season coming up, some big titles soon with Halo 3 and Super Paper Mario, good time for console owners. (except ps3 owners lolol go watch a dvd).

Talk about spoilers on the internet, on all halo, xbox\gaming forums some idiot(s) are posting the ending..

Imo, I was so hyped up for Halo 2, imo was a pretty good game, loved the atmosphere and loved the books.

Halo 3?? I seriously thinking of getting a 360 next week just so I can play it, and Mass Effect, decisions decisions.

Should be a great ending though, and theirs multiple endings based on what difficulty you play it on.

All, in All, Bohhy'yeah!!!

I've always enjoyed them, they're not amazing but good value, I've got next week off work so it works out well, I'll pick it up first day it's released for some hot 4 player co-op action

Target seems to be the cheapest I've found, their latest catalogue has it for $79, though I'd say JB will either match or beat that

i think they're s***, even on consoles (and laughable compared to any same generation shooter on the PC). They look mong, feel mong, control mong, and the muppets you shoot?....mong.

Have they released a mouse and keyboard for the 360 yet? When I buy the console I would like to check out this game but not if you have to use a control pad.

EDIT: Looks like you can buy a third party add-on that has USB and PS2 connections. As long as you can map any key this would be very, very cool.

Call me crazy but I like the xbox controllers. Even the big original chunky ones, I just liked them over the fkn piddly ps2 things, and the small xbox ones gave me the s***s. Maybe I just have big hands.

Also, halo has always seemed naturally console ish, on the pc it just felt really third rate.

yeah I'm mainly a console gamer now, and been trying to get into the hype for halo 3 by trying to play the first ones...but the SP campaign is just crappy imo and boring.

I think the popularity stems from the online modes etc, and h3 should be decent since it has 4 player online campaign, but still, I won't be rushing out to buy it.

I had plenty of fun finishing halo/2 on co-op with my mate and having the odd multiplayer deathmatch battle but it still doesn't compare to a quality fps title on the PC. The last good fps game to come out on the PC was Half-Life 2 but.
