Got no other graphics card to try to see if it definately is the graphics card, but here's what happened.

I was playing WoW and smashing the horde in ab, then i started getting artifacts all over the screen and lines shooting through it. then it went black, music was still going then it turned off. opened up case and went to pull the gfx card out and i burnt my fingers it was that f***ing hot.

There was a ATI sticker jammed in the fan. Now the computer turns on but doesn't post.

Thoughts?

P.S f*** ati.

ahaha dude, I have to confess I laughed when I read this :( sorry. But man, you should definitely take a photo of that s*** and put it on the internets. Death by ironic marketing sticker slippage!

Haha yeah, i guess it is kinda funny. Oh well, should be able to pick up an nvidia card fairly cheap these days.

Not sure what the budget is, but I got a 256Mb 7600GT for around $115 from MSY and it performs pretty sweet in WoW. All detail settings are max and I run it at 1680x1050 so it's a decent choice for a budget card.

Get a 8800GTS. Runs WoW in 1680x1050 at a constant 60fps and you can have the multisample thingy up at 4x and everything looks smooth and crisp with no jaggy lines anywhere on anything.

Too expensive.. Just need to get something to tide me over until i do a full system upgrade, will probably just look into a 7600gs or something.

Lol. a Voodoo 2 could do that.
WoW is a dog ugly piece of steamy outdated turd.

My old 6600GTS could run wow full detail with 4xAA fine.
You dont need an 8800 to run that pile of crap.

is this the same Loki that posted a thread on why his 6600gt was only doing 3 frames a second - cos he forgot to plug in the powerz?

The sticker has infected the ram, soon it'll take over your whole pc.

When it was 31c on Monday, Mine was pulling 105c, and the fan started going crazy, its the x850xt though, so it can run very hot.

I was tempted to get out a roast and put it in the case for an electrolyte taste!.

As long as my card lasts me another few months till 9800 is out, all is good.
