This is the big one people… We’ve literally been hanging on the line for years, with the tantalizing possibility of those loveable French robots Daft Punk bringing their spectacular live show to Australia. The mystique that has grown around the group is really quite incredible: we’ve salivated over the YouTube clips, torn our hair out in frustration over those fruitless rumours and debated it endlessly on the forums. Now ITM can confirm the recent talk is true! Here are the facts…

Brought to you by Michael Coppel and Modular, and presented by inthemix, the ‘Never Ever Land’ tour will see the pyramid spectacular landing in Australia for four massive shows this December, with a world-class roster of supports to back up the robot rockers. In addition to the almighty presence of Daft Punk, we’ll also be enjoying sets from a number of acts on the Modular roster. Indie-electro rockers The Presets will be playing one of their last shows before they disappear to record their second album, while rising star Muscles will be clocking in, as will the ubiquitous Bang Gang DJ posse, also warming up the crowds.

As if that wasn’t enough, we’ll have a second international guest in the form of fellow French dance duo SebastiAn & Kavinsky. One of the current stable of French producers on the Ed Banger label, dominating dancefloors around the world, they come from a musical heritage that is inextricably linked to massive legacy left by Daft Punk, so their presence on the bill is appropriate indeed. How’s that for a massive lineup?

As per usual inthemix will be bringing you all the tasty goodies, as we’ll be offering exclusive presales to this massive tour. Stay tuned for another announcement tomorrow! And be prepared to stare in slack-jawed amazement when Daft Punk’s mystical pyramid lights up Australia this December.

I don't know either, but either way - when they give a date I'll be f***ing camped out along with my laptop and a mobile phone connected to the internet trying to buy tickets online. There's no f***ing way I'm missing this.

the pullout M+M in the courier mail reckons they go on sale sep 13. most riverstage events seem to use ticketmaster so that'd be my guess.

dates are no where near close enough to be big day out sideshows, and its unlikely they'd do the tour, take 3-4 weeks off and do it again. I'd say it actually confirms they WONT play BDO.

that and daft punk cost an obscene amount of money to book. i dunno if a festival would be able to afford them and get enough other artists as well. i would imagine a solo stadium/amphitheatre tour like this would be the only fiscally feasible way they could do it? that and all their custom lighting/effects.

Agreed. They won't hang around for a month, and I imagine a lot of their stage show needs to be installed a fair way in advance, which would be a nightmare at big day out.

fark, missed seating cause i didn't know what the code was until about 10mins after presales opened, cbf'd with GA. Says on the ticketmaster website that they have presales opening on Friday at midday. Though they've already got presales happening, is it likely they'd be releasing a second batch of tickets? it's probably just a typo on their part but one can live in hope.

nah, Myer Bowl in Melbourne. GA is pretty akward at that avenue because it's behind the seating area on a grass slope which can be a pain if you're standing there for 4hrs+

a friend of mine got riverstage tickets but hers came with like a seat and row number?

Sif I'd be sitting through Daft Punk :) It's just nice to have seats available between bands and during intermissions etc. After 10yrs of mosh pits, I'm kinda over them regardless of the band. Anyhoo, got tickets through a friend so all good.

I'm a little curious, whats the go with floorspace arrangements in bris? Never used ticketmaster before and the types they have listed are under the stars, general admission etc. Which is daft punk? Also, which gate is where and that sort of thing =\?

Setup for slayer concert was, everything was open but there was a fence around the 18+ area
