Dunno if I missed this in one of the many other iPhone threads, but someone pointed this out the other day and I just re-read it because I want to buy a new mobile and I remembered it was hilarious: maddox dissects the iPhone.

Looks OK... qwerty is separated in the middle by the screen which is kinda lame. Problem with Nokias is that the software is s***.

I've heard nokias are the most user friendly though? I know my sony ericsson was pretty easy and good to use but I refuse to buy the new model because I'm boycotting everything sony. My current phone is a motorola v3 and while I've had no problems with it hardware wise except for being a bit rooted from me dropping it, I f***ing HATE the user interface. Twice as many steps to type/send an sms than my old phone (T610). "Soft buttons" that f***ing change with different screens so on one screen one button will be ok and on another it'll be delete or cancel, what the f***?.
edit: oh and I can browse the web/email stuff from my v3 too. last edited by whoop at 13:39:28 28/Jul/07 |

I've always had/paid the most attention to Nokia's, but after now getting my SE k800i, my opinion is.. all Nokia's eat a bowl of cocks.

f*** all you sony whoresThe only thing Sony are good for is phones (IMO). Don't avoid their phones just because you don't like the rest of their s*** corner markets (TV's/Consoles etc.) - Which I agree they eat a bowl of dicks at. |

I'm using a Nokia thats prolly about 4 or 5 years old and it's still going strong. Although it has nothing fancy like d/l ringtones or mp3's. But the next phone I get will be another Nokia simply because my current one is going like a trooper.

People like me who have s*** to do will stick to a keyboard that doesn't have its lips wrapped firmly to the user-interface equivalent of a throbbing dong: is it just me or does he have a fascination with throbbing dongs? |

I still love my LG 'chocolate' even if it is a fashion whore phone. It has some pretty decent features - video playback (I can put whole movies on it, though the screen is a bit small) mp3 playback (and ringtones), all the usual mobile s***. It has bluetooth and a dialup modem :O Has the standard java system for third party apps and games. Also has video and camera, decent resolution - nothing special.
The interface is nice (its very sony-esque) though a couple of the menus are a bit too 'deep' to get to fast, which is annoying. It has a good shortcut system though so that helps a little. It is still the best looking phone on the market IMO. The SMS is kind of s*** because its a little bit slow - so if you type fast it doesnt keep up, not too bad if you use T9 but if you are a multitapping f***** it would be painfull. It doesnt have expandable memory which sucks if you use it like an mp3 player but I dont so I dont care. (128MB I think) I dont see many of them even though I thought loads of people would have them. Winner. |

i use to be a nokia guy and loved their UI, then i picked up a SE phone. SE's UIs have improved in leaps and bounds over the last year or two. they use to suck ass but now they are really neat and well thought out. But still, I want a Nokia N800 as my next phone. |

movies compressed down to less than 128Mb? ewwwell when you go from a single disc source to the resolution for a mobile phone screen and headphones you can make some concessions without making it too bad. I dont care cause I dont use it at all :P nokia is the phone of men, seriously it can withstand anything..LIES. The last nokia I had wasnt that long ago (proper color screen, java games etc) and it didnt last long before I bumped into a table with the phone in my pocket and cracked the screen and it stopped working. Never getting a nokia again. - SE are way more hardy and Im happier with my LG than with any other phone ive had. All the current gen nokia phones ive seen have the s***tiest UI ive seen on a phone. last edited by qmass at 16:56:07 29/Jul/07 |

What is your definition of bumped anyway? Sounds like you must have hit it pretty hard to crack the screen. Sorta like when that bouncer at the Colmslie Hotel "bumped" that guy on the head with a roundhouse kick killing him.

SE's have a great UI, build quality and features, but the k800i is way too thick. makes fishing it from a jeans pocket very annoying.

well, I can see why! What a piece of s*** that turned out to be!haha I didnt mean that phones should be hardy enough to take such punishment (although the problem was precipitated by the soft screen instead of a seamless hardcase like most SEs have) I was more eluding to the fact that I have used the three different brands in recent times and by far, nokias is the worst software. Then again, I only bumped into the side of a bench as I walked past... I dont think that is so bad that a screen replace would not fix it. last edited by qmass at 10:14:53 31/Jul/07 |

i have an N73 and the software is horrible. it always freezes on certain screens, slow to switch between screens and apps and it's just downright crappy.
though that n95 looks sexy, i'd be reluctant to buy another nokia without trying it out |

yeah I really like my n95, but its like other Nokia's I've had with the slow response sometimes etc. Pisses me off after coming from a k800i. Sony's UI > Nokias imo.
