Logan City has almost Quadrupled in Size, taking the northern 1/2 of Beaudesert Shire (With the Southern Merging with Boona Shire and Becoming Beaudesert Regional Shire) We're also taking 49 Sq KM off the Gold Coast (Going south to the Albert River, Eagleby and Beenleigh mostly)

Brisbane, or course, remains unchanged, as does Redlands.
Redcliff, Caboolture and Pine Rivers are to become 1 and a myriad of other changes throughout QLD.

Best information: ~1,250 Pollys will become ~526. All their wages/cars/offices get to be spent on usefull things.

These goto vote sometime in September, but the general concensus is that most (if not all) recomendations will be accepted.

Well for 49 Sq KM people wont be able to say "I live down the Gold Coast" so those might drop.
However, i'm not a property analysist so I have NFI.

I know there's a plan for a New Satalite type city (Think Springfield) In the SW corner of the newly aquired Logan Area. Not sure where or how far along the planning is.

Also, as I said, This is just the recomendations. It's not solid yet.

all it will do imo is lower rates for regional residents and business owners. it's common knowledge out west that these local authorities are simply gravy trains for lazy politicians and bureaucrats.

The resolution of their maps is hideous. I can hardly work out the new boundaries because of it.

Also, ~526 less councillors = A hell of a lot of money the 'public' get to see.
I highly doubt it will lower rates at all, but the public will definitely see a benefit.

I'm all for it. Pine Rivers Council is s***haus and deserves to be taken over.
