Not too much footage shown yet but then it's only a teaser. He's definitely got the look for the role but I rekon he's going to lack the acting skillz to pull it off, hopefully I'm wrong, I'm probably just too use to the original especially after having watched them all again recently from picking up the 5 season phone booth boxset from the states.

I dunno, the trailer did it for me - 3 or 4 good laughs in 20 seconds or so; and the rest of the cast seems to be pretty good.

The main dude has mostly played supporting roles himself to date, so he'll be hoping this is a breakout performance. With his background in comedies and the proven comedic timing of the supporting cast, I think it could be a good one to watch.

Lets just hope it doesn't suck in the tradition of other small-to-silver-screen remakes in the vein of Bewitched and Lost in Space.

Ya Steve Carrol has wanted to to this for a long time, if the script is good it will be awesome.

There's no other comedy actors around who would fit the role better, I think Steve Carrol is a perfect fit. Apparently he's purposely trying not to mimic Don Adams, mostly in the way he talks so it'll be interesting to see if it comes off or not.

Looks pretty good to me, I think it would be to jarring if he directly tried to mimic don adams voice and characterizations

but the rock in it? meh

If the trailer is anything to go by, the movie should be good, not often I can get a few good laughs out of a teaser trailer that only shows a few second of the movie. I haven't seen Get Smart for ages though, is The Rock actually playing a character from the show, or a new one they made for the movie?

yeah I heard him say that on some interview thing he did. He said Don Adams' voice was so unique he didn't think he could do it justice or some such.
