bogans won't be fooled by the "it won't change the taste" hype, they realise that removing 0.1% although a very small change indeed represents a dangerous precedent for potential future beer decreases

Industry experts say the VB alcohol content reduction - from 4.9 per cent to 4.8 per cent - could save Foster's $20 million in beer tax a year.Less than $3. 4.9 to 4.8 omg end of the world!!!! |

Mids are for when you start drinking at 10am, they do serve a purpose.
Most people I've met on the farms drink mids so they can still drive/ride bikes/shoot/tend crops and livestock safely. 10+ hours of drinking beers, the large majority of people can't keep that up. If you're at a pub, house or have no plans on doing anything remotely difficult and you still drink mids... you're a softcock. |

It's not like they're driving/riding on public roads, the only person they can hurt is themselves.
Riding a quad bike and/or shooting on a 30,000 acre property that you own after a carton of mids... oh noes, call the police. |

Don't bring other s*** into the debate.
I'm speaking purely from my own experience infi, I didn't stereotype every farmer. The majority I've met never stop working (they got some f***ed ambition seriously). So even when they drink on a Saturday, every few hours or so they're still out to the shed/fields/feedlot checking and/or working on their produce. On a very large property that is privately owned, I see absolutely no problem. |

There are many fine beers.
However atm I am partial to Pils. Super Dry is orright. James Boags is pretty nice. Tooheys New is good, Carlton Draught is good. I think a lot of beers are overrated such as Corona, Stella, Becks etc. but hey, I'll drink em if someone is buying. Having said that I would drink VB and have nothing against it. Then again, I drink to get drunk. I don't think any beer tastes so bad I would refuse it when offered. |

I'll drink any beer if somebody else is buying really. If I'm buying, Hahn Super Dry or XXXX bitter would be my first choice, VB would be down towards the last choice. Also, another vote for Coronas being over rated.

Just to clarify, although I do enjoy the gentle caress of the full tilt drunken binge, I also enjoy one or two beers. Given the chance or the day off work without the missus though, I will gladly plow through whatever alcohol I can get my hands on.

I didn't realise you were a beer expert at such a young age. VB is an average beer, i usually drink XXXX when im out, but im kinda over spending money on booze these days. But if i feel like it, Tooheys Extra Dry's or Hahn Premium for the win :D |

Clint, you're still in highschool and you still live with your parents.
So even if I am a f***tard, your opinion means nothing to me. Once you graduate, get some life experience and start doing your own laundry... you can have a valid opinion that counts. Till then, keep posting about "I'm not like all the other teenagers, I'm mature!!!". |

currently it's XXXX bitter and Paulaner Hefeweissbier (delicious) but am I the only one who can't tell that much of a difference between VB and XXXX (especially after a jug when the tastebuds are dulled) edit: woops yes chub has said exactly this last edited by Insom at 23:42:06 04/Jul/07 |

VB and XXXX both taste very skunky to me so I am not a fan of either nor of most aussie beers in general.
Someone put me onto little creatures recently and it tasted very similar to VB to me as well which was a major dissapointment after the fanboi rants I endured about it. If it makes you want to retch when you drink it I don't think it's worth it. I would rather a XXXX gold for taste over 90% of aussie beers including the vaunted crownies. (My opinion only). Also Johnny red is very over rated even for "cheap" scotch, for around the same price you can pick up a bottle of william grants for a much smoother experience with equal or better smoke and taste. Still though the johnny black is an awesome drop on the rocks for the mid range price so they do, do at least one drink thats nice. For the best scotch drinking experience short of hundreds of dollars a bottle though (perhaps not even then) you can't go past Glen livet 15 years. I would kill everyone of you for a bottle of that right now ... mmmmm. last edited by Xy at 05:34:38 05/Jul/07 |

However what gets my goat are people who dismiss Australian beers (or anything else for that matter) based on some idea that overseas products are automatically better. IMO Aussie beers are the some of the best in the world. I would rather a XXXX gold for taste over 90% of aussie beers including the vaunted crownies. Unfortunately any "beer credibility" you may have otherwise held is relinquished with this ridiculous statement. Wash your mouth out sir. Wash. It. Out. |

Lol speaking the truth loses you credibillity and makes you a troll these days, fine work lads, fine work indeed!
There are some nice Aussie beers which I personally think are better than a great deal of overseas beers most of which are pretty crap too and overpriced due to import so no tall poppy there. Seriously, little creatures is yaks piss. |

What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Also $45 is pretty cheap (nearly costs me that for a bottle of Turkey), how much do those fancy JW Blue bottles cost? |

Far to much!
Also I live with the manager of Liquer King Highgate hill and he said they have black label going for $39.99 right now. Further advertising for the whiskey crowd >_>. McCallums is currently $25 at his store and Jamesson is $32.99. last edited by Xy at 19:37:29 05/Jul/07 |

Woah $300.
That would make a pretty sweet chip-in present for a Scotch alco. You couldn't bring yourself to drink it all though. |

I drink most types of whiskey, but I can't handle Johnny Walker Red (only scotch I've tried). This sentence doesn't really make sense. Scotch is a variety of Whiskey (or whisky depending on what type you are talking about). The others being Irish and Bourbon. And then within Bourbon you have several varieties as well. |

I did notice that but all the previous talk was about scotch so yeah. If I was going to be a real smarty pants I could mention that when you talk about scotch it is always spelt whisky without the e :P
