Hey,

I dont know if anyone can help me - Ive lost soft copies of some documents, in particular my CV which I need urgently. I have a hard copy of it which I need to get back to an editable soft copy.

There is a lot of formatting etc involved and as im in a hurry im hoping to find an easy solution that doesnt involve doing the whole thing over again.

I used to have a lexmark scanner that allowed you to scan documents as a word doc, but alas not anymore. I have a scanner here that will only allow me to scan as a pdf.

Does anyone know another way I might be able to do this?

Any help would be SO VERY MUCH appreciated.

Thanks!

a) Get acrobat and edit the PDF. Acrobat might even let you save as a word doc.
b) Get some better scanning software. You describe using OCR, however OCR has nothing to do with the scanner, its the software that allows it.

certain adobe desktop publishing programs like freehandMX & illustrator will convert some PDFs back into there component text &/or images... but only PDFs made in the adobe format... dunno if that helps much :P

Thanks for the suggestions - nothing there can help me at this point. I could copy and paste or save as if it was a pure pdf document, but its a scanned document so doesnt work.

I think my only option is a print place with OCR, and lots of reformatting.
