Hokay....

I bust outta bed this morning and I go turn on my PC before jumping in the shower. Just as I touch the power button I get a little zap.. Cursing loudly I turn on my PC quietly praying to Vishnu, God, Buddha any bastard that wants to help but now my PC won't post, it powers up and the fans spin and all that lovely jazz but no post. Any suggestions?

y'see, you're supposed to have a shower FIRST.
No, i'd be guessing dead mobo. Tell us specs! If its all powering up and no post, then 9 times out of 10 it will be dead mobo.

I would toss her out but she cooks, cleans and when the stars align and venus bears down on mars to produce a solar flare.. sex too.

i turn my pc on and off twice daily. i have never had an issue. pc parts reliability is measured in mean time before failure, not in number of starts

It could also be a dodgy connection. Unplug all your bits from the mobo and plug em back in again. It sometimes works. Worth a try.

kk I'll give that a go Tollazor. Considering my CPU is kinda outta date and there's very few mobo's around that have the same socket.. Any suggestions on decently priced mobo/CPU?.

I wanna spend about $400 on new mobo and CPU.. Wanna stick with AMD, not really a fan boi, just like em.

heh, you know there's a testing procedure that results in that MTTF thought right? I dare say number of starts will have significant effect on the longevity of mechanical devices such as hard drives. Silicon, makes no diff.
