Built a computer for a mate a few weeks back which has since spat the dummy.

SYMTOMS:
- NO VIDEO
- NO POWER TO KEYBOARD OR MOUSE

FIX:
DEFECTED MOBO - REMOVE AD REPLACE? RIGHT?

any suggestions b4 i go ahead?

no power to mobo either?

check the reset button on case before you do anything

i was pulling my hair out over a similiar dealy (but during build)
wouldnt post, no video

reset button on case was stuck on

dont think it got pc speaker so i dunno if its throwing beeps out at me.
got 2 cords not plugged in ac 97 (9 pin) and hd audio (9pin) - pretty sure they just for the front auidio sockets...

could be ram / hd / psu... and that's if you're posting the board on your desk.


if you don't have spare parts to start swapping bits out just take it back to the shop dude

I assume you've removed non-essential components (drives, sound/network cards, etc) and are left with:

* Motherboard
* CPU
* Memory
* Video Card
* PSU
* Keyboard only

dont think i tried keyboard only...

but have swapped mobos and psu

all i can think of is the original psu stuffed both mobos....

just take it back to the shop dude...

almost 20 days have passed since you posted this. it's something that the retailer the bits came from could diagnose inside 30 mins eh
