yeh I was wondering if I could throw my old GF4Nvidia64mb AGP graphics card in my new rig that I'm about to buy (CoreDuo6400). This is just to tide me over till the Dx10 cards come out. I have no intention on playing games with (obviously) this is just to have card in it to function etc.

Or will it simply not work and Im better off with an elcheapo PCI express?

well chances are your new motherboard won't have an AGP slot anyway, so you will have no choice.

Erm, can you even buy a motherboard that supports AGP and a dual core CPU?

ASRock 939Dual SATA2.

That's what I'm running - 6800AGP w/X2-3800+ atm, will be putting a PCIe 8600GT in there when Spore comes out.

Just buy a s***ty no name brand for the time being. I bought one of these from Computer Alliance to get me by. Going from an old ATI X800 Pro to this was a major leap. WoW looks amazing now.

Plenty of Socket939 boards that support both dual-core processors and AGP.

Infact, I have an X2 4600+ with 6600GT (AGP) sitting next to me (powered off).
