yeah I want to turn off directory browsing, can anyone tell me how?

Or you can make the directory ^0x004. You only need execute permissions to traverse into directories - removing the read attribute will disable the browse ability.

cool, that worked - the .htaccess file was being gay for some stupid reason.

imo insecure apache install ... but you are heardy and whatever you do would be noob

well it is a 'private' server and I don't install/manage anything on it, so it might be a bad apache install, either way what I wanted done is done.
