a group of 24 graduating students including me, all organised to go to backpackers place at airlie baeck for new years. book accommadation (so we thought) plane flights and bus transfers. anyway, the day b4 we leave, we find out that our accommadation was never confirmed, entire region is booked out and 24 ppl are up s*** creek with no arms no legs and no respiratory system.

yea...

so gonna spend all tomorrow searching for nearby places... anyone know anywhere, u get $300 if u help 24 ppl get accommadated from the 29th till the 2nd

getting a booth at a club alleviates most of those issues. you have your own space with no randoms, and the drinks are served directly to you while youre chillaxing. plus the hefty bar tab ofcourse :D

Actually, it's quite the opposite to what you'd think. It's no more busy on NYE, than your average Friday night - due to people staying away and going to parties instead.

Avoid the southbank celebrations, however.

As for my plans, going to check out the roof party at the Fox.

Over here in Perth, I'm told that NYE is a bit dull because everyone goes the the Perth Cup on New Years Day (better be right cause I'm going), they get 35-40k people... :) So my NYE is going to a quite one down the road at the loacl, famous last words.
