There's about 3 helicopters hovering over and around Geebung at the moment. Fireies and Ambulance went screaming past my place (Ellison Rd)


Well when wriiting this post I got a call from mum at work, and found out that the company fern air is going up in flames.

Okay, I had a look at it and i can't read the shorthand all that well, but this is what i gleaned:

Factory fire, single story building, Fernie Australia P/L (Furnair?), Roof has collapsed, 20m across, Aerial support assisting. There are 8 units at the scene, 2x helicopters???

Sounds like a busy day for the boys.

Depends on what helicopters fireCAD is reporting. Those 2 could be rescue copters but the other couple could be news helicopters.

1) i thought all firecalls went through the radio, but your telling me that there are consoles in the trucks / stations?

2) can you find out the frequency that they use for the FireCAD transmissions pls

Erm, In trucks is radio only i believe. FireCAD is not public facing. It is on a closed private network.

twas a good fire, about 5 or so fire trucks, the building is pretty much fooked. i work just up the road.
it was Furnir, was in their storage shed. it took about 20 odd mins for the firey's to get there. not sure what type of furniture they make, ours is better anyway. might get some more work.

The firey's took 20 mins to get there because they got lost. They were going up and down matherson st & the streer that runs parralel to bilsen rd.

Firnir make wooden bed frames. Vanish, polish build all that jazz.

Where abouts do you work?

Dyman Foams. well we do nothing like that so no more work for us.
Mattress/sofa's etc.

if a fire at our factory couldn't be put out in under 5 mins, there would pretty much be no way to stop it.
