Check out page 6 of the Courier-Mail today.

60g - $439
30g - $380
8g nano - $380
4g nano - $299
2g nano - $219
1g nano - $179

Went to Carindale, had already sold out of the 60g in the first half hour. Had to get one shipped over from another store. I guess if you can't get one at Myer someone like JB might price match?

As an Apple reseller. They are meant to only sell at the recommended price, and no retailer that wants to keep their Authorised Apple reseller status will price match.

ps. those are the same prices that you could get from the Apple shop if you were a student or worked for any form of educational instituion. And the apple store gives free engraving.

If a place has a price match gauruntee (not sure if JB does?), unless they stated otherwise they would have to match any advertised price regardless of the supplier. I know that's the policy at my work.

Doesn't matter though, I'll just get it from Myer.

Apple Resellers are allowed to discount full retail pricing when and how they want, they are just making a loss on the product.

If the Apple reseller is selling to a Key Customer, Education Customer or has obtained an SPR for a product, they are not allowed to discount the product as they are then selling the product on behalf of Apple not for themselves.

I would think that would exclude competitors sale prices wouldn't it?

I bought a video ipod ages ago for $450, much to my surprise the price hasn't dropped even the slightest.
60g - $439
30g - $380

Are these the prices for the video ipods?

If you've gone through 3 iPods, why on earth would you buy another one?!?! I have a Nano by the way, and I think it's pretty cool, but if I had 3 break on me, I'd be using something else...

i got my dad a 30gig 5th gen ipod for his birthday.

Got
"Happy Birthday!"

+61733785555 (my home phone number)

this idea being that becaues he likes to travel if he lost it and someone was kind enough to turn it in then they could contact the owner anywhere in the world.

I also wish to see the SA forums ideas.

An email would be better.

Phone numbers probably change more often these days.

i'd love to see him lose it, an old lady find it and, after 5 minutes trying to find the + sign on her landline, throw it in the trash

It sorta seemed like mine just died in the goat arse pretty quickly. I haven't really tested it but I don't think the battery lasts even 15 minutes now. Still ok to take to work and have plugged in to power while listening to though.

I've had mine for 3 or so years also, it crapped out on my once, and I stopped using it for a few months cause it wouldn't charge or power up. But I tried to use it like a month or so ago and it started working again!

If you still want to keep your old iPod, get yourself an iPod battery replacement from Jaycar. I replaced it for my mum's iPod mini (which she has for only like a year - same problem, wouldn't hold the charge, wouldn't powerup). Replaced the battery with larger capacity now it's great. Bewarn tho, you will most likely scratch your iPod mini when you replace the battery. This particular kit I bought didn't come with a nice plastic/non-scratching tool to open the iPod so I had to use screw driver.....
