Thing I don't get is that to the best of my memory the joker appeared and died in the first movie (i.e. Batman from 1989). Although it has been a long time and I could be wrong about that, it kind of sucks if they're stuffing up the story line from the original which was a pretty good movie (they can stuff around with some of the later ones all they want because they sucked).

I can't believe you don't know this, but Batman Begins was a restart for the franchise, as if the other movies never happened, these movies are their own entity from the Tim Burton/Joel Arsemacher versions

If you watch the special features of the original Batman movies, they were actually planning on having the Scarecrow as the next villain, which is weird seeing as he was then cast in the new series.

she's obviously impressed. back on topic, batman begins was awesome and heath ledger is generally a good actor, i think it will be a good change to see him play a bad ass.

edit: I do actually hope Heath manages to pull it off and I do think in the farthest stretch of the imagination, he might be able to do it under the right direction but he just hasn't had the best track record imo.
