Just bought the BenQ 20" FP202W WideScreen LCD Monitor

Anyone else converted of late who is wondering how you ever thought widescreen wasn't the answer?

From a developers POV (Oracle reports specifically), it's a blessing when you open a report an want to look at the code AND the output (dual monitors don't work as you'd expect)

I have a 20" dell widescreen at work atm, which rocks my socks. The extra desktop space is a godsend, specially to have multiple windows side by side. Really makes life a lot easier.

sigh, I just wish I had one at home :(

lol what the hell? too much crack for someone there.

How does it go for games though? do the games just come out 4:3 (or 5:4) and have black bars at the sides? or do they stretch out to the sides and everyone looks like a little fat midget? Personally I'd be inclined to have a normal monitor for games and just some kind of cheap widescreen tv for watching movies on hooked up to my pc.

I use dual 17" LCDs at work and love it.

Only run a single 17" at home :/

Well, I recently got myself a second 32" and it totally rocks. One for games and the other for movies and such. Alot of new games these days are allowing for wide screens and are including the wider resolutions. Now if I could only find the room for a third...

Not at all, not mine anyway.

Most I just run at 1360x768 where my computer can handle it fine, but even at 1024x768 games still look awesome, doesnt give any stretched feel about it. Im f***ed if i'll ever play on anything less then 42" from now on :P

Ask ben, he had a good crack at bf2 here the other night.

more games are starting to support ws. check out widescreengaming.net for getting games without native support to run as best as possible. it's the way things should be. Took about an hour to get used to my Dell 2405 24" WS and now it just seems normal.

Having the extra space open makes my day2day use all that easier.

Have been playing Prey, GRAW, Q4 Delta CTF an now thanks to natslovR, I can now enjoy NFSMW in widescreen as well!

Sorta had an impromptu LAN last night with 7 people so I got to try a few diff games all over again!

PS: The monitor rocks hard in games
Went from a BenQ 937s+ to this.

Very happy =)

For W3 you can use the registry to run at native resolution, the movies will get tooled up and it will appear wider than usual but atleast it will be clear.

I've got a 24" LCD here at work with a secondary 17" LCD, it's great, you can use the second screen for all of Maya's tiny little windows or your email client, it sucks now having to go home to my little 19" LCD :(
