Is coming along strong, especially after a rather lacklustre end of season by everybody's favourite mafia show.

Absolutely awesome. Tonights ep seemed like it only went for 15 minutes I was so absorbed the whole time and when it ended I just wanted to keep watching :( Definintely one of those shows that is just so consistently good, the dialogue especially. What season 3 does need however, is more Wu!

the dialogue has upped itself, they seem to be using more old english instead of just vulgar slang.

Also, the "Lacklustre Season Finale" by the Sopranos wasn't actually the final episode of the season. It continues in 2007. So end of year, yes. End of series? No.

Just to clarify.

Personally I think that's a crock. They might not call it the end of the season, but the way I look at it they're just covering their asses because it was soooooo slow.

I mean, look at it my way... their normal season is 13 eps, they did 12 (so that's almost normal length). Usually a season ends and a new one starts the next year.

So, they might not be calling it "a season", but all the hallmarks of it having been a season were there, except that it had a really woeful end.

So it feels more like it was a cop-out to say "we're saving all the good stuff for the end of this season which comes after this break" ... when really they've dropped the ball on it quite a bit for the recent bits of this season.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting rubbish when it comes back... but I can't help feeling like they could have gotten a lot more out of these episodes just before "the break"... I kept hoping that they were setting it all up for something good but that eroded away to nothing and now I must wait a substantial amount of time for anything to happen.

I mean at least Battlestar Galactica knows how you end a season... make key characters grow moustaches and pot bellies to show the passage of time and then drop a bombshell that erases everything you thought you knew about the plot!

I agree with blahnana about some of the points made. It's a great show but alot of the eps could have been alot more interesting, especially in season 2. Hoping season 3 picks up the pace alot more and the last thing you want is it ending up like Carnivale with no proper ending a story that goes no where. Anyway, it's a million times better than Lost and the writers know whats actually gonna happen. Not just making it up as they go along.

Always look forward to hearing what awesome lines Swearingen is gonna pull out, same with E B Farnham. That guy's a crack up.

^hahaha that scene was hilarious.

The best bit about Sopranos and Deadwood is the subtle bits of humour here and there.

I don't have any woes about Sopranos... I'm sure they have split the season the way they have for a good reason - a lot of content at the moment is very recent worldly events and they might just be trying to stay up wtih it all.

Also, one of the main directors died:O

Dan vs The Captian was the best HBO moment since Titus and Lucious in the gladiator arena in Rome.

thats because this will be the last season, and the writer had the s***s about it as he had loads more story to fill in. but hbo comprimised and i believe there making 2 mini movies to end the series.

also last ep fight between dan and the captain was as tense as when skinner and x on the x-files clashed. no wait. it was better.

Yeah the actual tension it built up before the fight was palpable, I don't think I've ever been that affected up by a fight scene in a movie/show

Btw if they follow the history semi-acurately.

The gem will burn down. Al will not rebuild but will instead leave will be killed unknown drunk trying to catch a train. Bullok and Star hardware will burn down and they will build a casino instead.

But then they haven't exactly been acurate up to now, not that it matters.

Deadwood is one of the best shows I have ever seen. So entertaining in this world full of s*** shows that fill our screens. Season 3 is just awesome, I loved season 2 because of the depth of the characters. A lot of writers/directors/producers could learn s***loads off this show. Instead we get more and more of those dumb f***ing cop shows or medical dramas which repeat the same story line every week and have no development of characters. If there is one more sterile Law & Order on the TV I will scream. I suppose it has to appeal to mindless masses who don’t like to think.

Cry more billy

As if its a spoiler anyways.

In reality Seth's wife was reportedly his childhood sweetheart. And they had a baby girl before he went to deadwood, they stayed with his parents at first becuase deadwood was msot definately not family orientated. Not the wife of his brother and the kid was a boy supposedly his brothers kid. And aparent Hurst didn't spend that much time in Deadwood, tho he did own the Homestake Gold Mine which aparently might be reopened soon for research.

Also Farnham was married with kids (and crap).

And even if they do follow that much of the history. Who is to say why the places burnt down. Was it becuase of the great fires that wiped the town out (and if it was why did they start ?)... And if it wasn't the great fires was it someone out to ruin Al's livelihood ?

A story isn't just an ending!
