I am planning on doing a roadtrip next month to buy some (i.e. a ute tray full of) fireworks in ACT.
Has anyone else done this before? Is it true that fireworks cannot be legally purchased in Qld? |

It's true, but theres a mob down at kirrer on the gold coast who supplies the majoirty of people in the ACT, and often supply to the public up here. Now if you werent such a fagot, i'd tell you who they were and where to find them. HA HA HA! |

I don't think you can just buy a truckload of them that easily.
ACT there are only certain days of the year you are allowed to set them off. I still have a couple left. I -think- my sister was saying something about you have to sign for them or something? I may not have been paying 110% attention at the time =] Nothing beats the Dragonball - that 8 shooter was freakin' awesome; if you can find that get a tonne of them, setting a few of those off together would be sweet as. I still have one more 8-shooter left that suppsedly shoots "fireballs" and one more ground sparkling shower one. I lost my sparkler-esque one and my last little tom-thumb, Possibly under the backseat of the car. Great place for them to go off =] last edited by Loki at 11:27:27 19/May/06 |

My understanding is that as of a few years ago you now need a license to purchase fireworks even in the ACT. Basically that means that all fireworks sales you typically hear of are unter-the-counter.

i think you may need an ACT drivers license, and you have to sign something to say you won't take them out of the state.
i can be bought. |

I think it may be a little harder than just rocking down to ACT, buying them and bringing them back.

ACT isn't what it used to be. Apparently they've tightened up regulations in line with the new terrorism laws. So even if you could buy them, you'd be absolutely screwed if you were caught with them.
