I'm interested in getting one of these keyboards because I like wanky things and the LCD is quite wanky however the only game I play is WoW and there doesn't seem like a lot of support out there for it.
So my question is .. is the keyboard really worth the ~$100 it's going for? |

Well I've got 2 of them, and back in my WoW days, they were pretty useful. 18 extra function keys, with 3 modes means you can have up to 54 macro's set up. Apart from that, not alot of games at the moment make use of the LCD screen which is a bit disapointing. The back lit keys make it so much easier playing at night too.

Mate I think it's worth it just for the ergonomics, the backlit keys, and the fact that I can keep an eye on the time (via the LCD) while playing a game.
The Macro keys I don't use a heck of a lot, but I find them useful for some stuff. |

I found some LCD stuff around to show system stats (CPU/Mem usage, Network info, etc) and one for TS/Vent to show channel info.. seems pretty handy so far.

www.qldit.com.au has them for like $1 more.
They are a lot easier to deal with in regards to warranty claims too. But yeah there is a big delay on them atm. Product is not due at supplier till mid next month. I have one and use it alot for playing late at night. I have a 3rd party application for use with BF2, it's quite neat. Tells me score, rank, # of grenades, map, ping, kit type etc. last edited by Fik at 15:32:00 15/May/06 |

I find that mine is most useful with the TeamSpeak plugin so you can see who is talking.

I ended up chasing Harveys down to $107 and got it from them after work. Umart wouldnt have any in stock for quite a while and I won't be missing the $9 anytime soon.
So far, freaking awesome.. very nice to type on and the wank features of the LCD are supreme. Although having trouble getting the volume control to work :( |

Yeah I'm loving my g15. I use the mutlimedia info screen and the clock HEAPS in games. I wish there was a prettier media screen though, like with a spectrometer thingy and volume bar to go with what's already on screen. I'm picky :P

mmm, agree with TS/vent addins being the most useful
quite a few games are getting lcd stuff being made for them tho, civ4 and ut2k4 are two that come to mind wow does have a lcd mod for it, but it only displays your own hp/mana/exp/location, probably be able to mod it for other ppl (its written as a wow mod and run when you are playing) |
