They were saying on media watch last night they estimate each man will get about $500K for their stories. When one of the TV shows were getting miners to smuggle a video camera in to film some of the digging they were offering $10K just for that.

do they really get compo? Wouldn't they have massive agreements saying that they are willing to risk that, and that is why they get paid quite well in the first place?

Having said that, they would have to get paid double time and half or whatever for two weeks straight overtime!

I would have thought the company would have wanted to pay them out to look good and avoid any extra legal problems.

nah i think they'd still get compo billy, regardless of the job or what kind of dangers are present in the job, generally the company is still liable for compensation.

Well they made movies about the Granville railway disaster and the Thredbo hill slide thingy. I guess they could stretch this out for 2 hours.
