Ok so now that I'm working again, It's time to update the old KB and mouse. I've already decided that I'm getting the G7 mouse. I really want to get the keyboard that comes with the MX5000 wireless bluetooth desktop. Unfortunately, that wireless desktop comes with an MX1000 laser mouse. So what I need to know is: Can I buy just the keyboard from the MX5000 kit on its own? I'd rather not spend the full amount for the keyboard + the mx1000 and have the mx1000 just sitting there collecting dust.

I've googled around but couldn't find any good news :(

Maybe sell the mouse afterwards (providing of course the keyboard isn't the wireless receiver)

Don't like the new INS, HOME, PGUP, DEL, END, PGDN setup (I use arrow keys to play my 1st person shooter games and those keys are my fav weaps). Actually, I can't even see what's missing from the layout

Do you need the kb to be wireless? The Logitech G15 is a great piece of kit and is similar to the MX5000 kb.

DO NOT BUY THE MX5000

I bought this when I was on my back for a month after surgey, its the s***test combo ever - the bluetooth is constantly f***ed, I've resorted to using a corded mouse and the keyboard.

Every day or two the keyboard disconnects so I have to unplug the bluetooth reciever and plug it back in, then reconnect it all - its useless. The mouse was stupidly laggy and horribly inaccurate too (this is less than 1M from the PC)

The software is the s***tiest I've ever seen, its so very horrible.

Don't buy it.
