Topic: Half-Life 2 Platinum not going to be sold in stores?

I went into E.B. in Perth yesterday to put deposits on Star Wars: Empire at War (yay) and HL2:Platinum. I was told that HL2:P now had a status of 'D' on their computer which meant it was discontinued!

Some discussion with the guy clarified the situation:
* Vivendi want people to buy the games online, and don't want EB to have it on their shelves
* EB have customers who want it on the shelves, and have told Vivendi that they won't buy other games

Or something like that, anyway.

Does anyone know about what's going on? Am I going to be able to get a physical copy of HL2:P? I haven't got HL2 yet and figured it would be smarter to buy a single boxed set with HL2, CS:S, DoD:S, HL2:Deathmatch and HL2:Aftermath all in one go. Downloading the whole lot via Steam is an option but I want the physical media.

According to Gamespot the US release date for HL2:P is still April 24, 2006 so I'm hoping that EB will be able to get it after all ...

Cheers

AS.
